Dani Leder

TRASH R US

Conditions is happy to announce "Trash R Us" by Dani Leder, opening December 25 online with an in-person viewing in April. Trash R Us will close on May 1st, 2023 with the release of an audio piece, marking Leder's first foray into sound.

"Trash R Us" began as a series of mind maps for the catalogue of "Illiberal Arts" at Haus der Kulturen Welt, Berlin. The first series, made in the heat of the covid-19 pandemic / global shutdown, explored states of unrest, death, value, and inertia.

Leder's mind maps are time-sensitive collages that intersperse found photographs and texts with the artist's own handwriting. For "Trash R Us," two new collages, "Energy Crisis 1 & 2" (2022), tackle societal questions on a larger, corporeal scale — amassed for us here, like a professor's life-sized whiteboard — like a hungry sleuth's grid of incriminating debris.
